Backend Engineer (Ruby on Rails) 100% Remote India
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Ruby Backend Engineer to join our team. As a Backend Engineer you will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining the backend systems that power our applications. The ideal candidate has 4 years of experience and a strong background in Ruby on Rails. You should be familiar with API development test-driven development and Agile workflows and have a strong focus on writing secure scalable code.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain backend systems and APIs using Ruby on Rails (Rails 7.0).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers product managers and designers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in sprint planning feasibility studies and peer code reviews.
- Write clean testable and maintainable code in Ruby (3.1) following TDD principles.
- Focus on system performance maintainability scalability and security.
- Contribute to the evolution of our software development lifecycle and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and debug production issues delivering timely resolutions.
Job Qualifications:
- 4 years of professional experience as a backend engineer.
- Strong proficiency with Ruby on Rails (Rails 7.0).
- Test-driven development experience and familiarity with automated testing frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.
- API development expertise with a focus on RESTful design.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Bonus Skills: (Good to have skills)
- Experience with payment gateways and integrations.
- Familiarity with PCI compliance and security requirements.
- Skills in performance optimization (database processing etc.).
