Your role
In this rewarding role youll inspire children and adults to be fit confident and environmentally conscious through fun and engaging cycling sessions. Youll be delivering essential life skills that promote independence and wellbeing.
As part of your journey youll receive nationally recognised training through a three or four-day course provided by Suffolk County Council. Within six months of the course youll complete web-based learning with 1st4Sport to become a fully accredited Bikeability Instructor. Ongoing professional development will ensure you stay up to date and qualified.
In this role you will be required to adhere to road safety law as you do in your daily life. You should be able to plan and organise courses and be able to demonstrate reliability and punctuality. Experience of cycling and awareness of potential road safety hazards are also required. You must be willing to travel throughout Suffolk (for which mileage expensed may be claimed in line with Suffolk County Councils policy) and be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
Your responsibilities
As a professional cycling instructor youll work alongside the Road Safety Team to deliver Bikeability the modern version of Cycling Proficiency across various locations in Suffolk.
