Bury St Edmunds Suffolk
A lovely live-in role has come in working for a 9 bedrooms property in Suffolk (only 1 bedroom is used during school terms 5 bedrooms in total are used during holidays only). This is a great opportunity for someone who is proactive and organised with the highest standards and meticulous attention to detail to manage and take responsibility of this property and the family (2 Principals most of the time 4 boys during school holidays 2 at boarding school and 2 at University during school terms)
Duties:
General Housekeeping such as general cleaning polishing organizing etc
Laundry and ironing it s important to follow the system making sure that the clothes go back in the right bedroom/ wardrobe etc.
Groceries stock ( the employer does the grocery shopping online)
Keeping stock of cleaning products and other general items around the house
Cooking is not necessary however you might be asked to prepare simple breakfast sometimes
Changing beds
Silver polishing
Caring for fine furniture and antiques
Feeding the pets (1 dog an elderly Golden retriever and 2 cats)
Keeping the terrace and the garden furniture clean during the summer
Taking delivery of items
Hours and days:
Hours per week: 8am to 4pm Mon to Fri. Ideally with some flexibility if they need some help on a Friday night or a Saturday to help the Chef who is cooking for a dinner party or similar.
Accommodation: your own ensuite bedroom in the house
Requirements
The ideal candidate would be/ would have:
Good English
Organized
A mature person with a good work ethic and good attention to detail/ organized the clients like things kept in order the whole time
Someone who is diligent and gets on with their work in the background and who is a great Housekeeper with experience in laundry and ironing.
A kind and gentle person
Benefits
Salary: 40000 gross per annum
28 days holiday a year including public holidays
Proven housekeeping experience in a private residence. Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness. Ability to work efficiently independently and as part of a team.
