Appointment Type: Temporary Exempt (TEX) Category 18 Limited two (2) years duration
Under general direction in the San Francisco Public Defenders Office performs a variety of human resources functional areas including recruitment and examinations; classification and compensation; employee and/or labor relations; and human resources operations.
The Human Resources Analyst will be in a generalist role and or perform duties in multiple areas but not limited to those described below.
Recruitment and Examinations duties include assisting with recruitment and evaluating the skills of candidates to hire a highly qualified workforce.
Human Resources Operations duties include ensuring employees have a smooth and efficient experience when they join move within and/or leave the department workforce.
Classification and Compensation duties include helping the department achieve our equity and wage parity goals by conducting investigations and surveys concerning the duties responsibilities qualifications and salaries of City jobs.
Employee and/or Labor Relations duties enhance the Citys goal to provide a fair and welcoming work environment by ensuring consistent compliance with the Citys collective bargaining agreements.
Current City policy allows for limited hybrid work schedules.
Please note that the PDR HR Analyst may be required to perform the full range of duties as listed in the class specification.

Education:
Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
Substitution:
Education Substitution - Verifiable professional human resources work experience in one or more of the following areas may substitute for up to two years of the required education on a year-for-year basis: recruitment and selection; classification and compensation; employee and/or labor relations; benefits administration; human resources operations; diversity equity and inclusion; and personnel training. (One year of experience will be considered equivalent to 30 semester or 45 quarter units of college coursework.)
