Job Description
Mount Mansfield Union High School is seeking a part-time (20 hours/week) Youth Employment Specialist to support students in gaining real-world work experience through community-based learning. This role helps studentsespecially those with special needsbuild vocational skills and transition successfully to employment trade school or higher education. The rate of pay for this position is $19.00-$25.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate student job placements and support employment skill development.
Partner with local employers to create meaningful work-based learning opportunities.
Provide job coaching and collaborate with educators and service providers to align work experiences with student goals.
Maintain records of student progress and placement outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferred in Education Special Education Social Work Vocational Rehabilitation or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in vocational counseling job coaching transition services special education or a related role preferably within a high school setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) transition requirements and best practices in youth employment.
- Familiarity with local and regional employment markets particularly within Chittenden County Vermont.
- Valid Drivers License
