Department: ECHO/CARDIAC SONOGRAPHER (cost center 130) General Certification Requirements (BLS etc.) BLS Specialty Certifications: * ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) VS (Vascular Sonographer) RVT (Registered Vascular Tech) ***Do they require additional certifications: AE (adult echo) or PE (pediatric echo) ARDMS - AE & PE would be a plus must be able to do standarde & TEEs Peds is a huge plus How many scanners/rooms does this dept have 2 rooms & 1 holding area so can scan in 3 areas Will they have to float/cover any other areas No - only Echos & TEEs Common types of imaging/studies performed & Job Duties Experience or Must have skills Average # of studies per day 15-20 per day EMR &/or PACS (Picture Archive & Communication System: software & hardware) do they use EPIC & PACS Department Specific Equipment Phillips Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech No the Manager of cath lab Do they use RRAs (Registered Radiology Assistants) Radiologist in-house Do they have to start IVs (if applicable to the department) RN from cath lab will do (Cath Echo & Stress are in same area. If need to do a stress echo they team up with the sonographer & do that) Shifts & SchedulingMon - Fri 8 AM - 4:30PM Every third weekend and rotated through the week Weekend Requirement Holiday Requirement Call or Standby requirement
