Job Summary

The Continuing Medical Education Representative coordinates the Medical Staff CME program to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of the hospital as well as meeting the requirements of the Medical Staff Bylaws The Joint Commission Standards Louisiana State Medical Society CME Essentials and other applicable federal state and local regulatory and/or accrediting agencies. Responsible for the daily operations of the Medical Staff CME Program. Coordinates additional and special functions as assigned by Manager of Medical Staff Services and Administration. Relies on education some experience and judgment to accomplish job. Works under general supervision. Creativity and some latitude are expected to complete responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

Experience -3 years professional level experience in related field

Special Skills -Microsoft Applications Computer Literacy Data Entry Internet Searching Abilities. Good Communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Job Standards and Performance Expectations

  1. Coordination: This will have been satisfactorily completed when
    1. CME for physicians are coordinated to include scheduling and coordinating all CME activities authorized by the CME Committee.
    2. Attendance records for all sponsored CME activities are maintained and reported as necessary.
    3. Literature searches for physicians are coordinated and provided as requested including assistance with library referencing materials as requested and related to patient care.
  2. Communication: This will have been satisfactorily completed when
    1. Working relationship and open communications are maintained with all physicians administration hospital and related departments and representatives working with Medical Staff Services.
    2. Issues and ongoing status of assigned work are communicated to the Manager of Medical Staff Services on a weekly basis or more frequent as deemed necessary.
  3. Technical Tasks: This will have been satisfactorily completed when
  4. Technical and administrative support is provided to Continuing Medical Education Committee and other medical staff members as needed.
  5. Outside reference sources including LSMS LHA universities medical schools and other hospital CME programs are networked to enhance services available.
  6. Other Duties as Assigned: This will have been satisfactorily performed when
    1. Other duties as assigned or requested are performed such as reception filing correspondence or other activities to support the general operations of the Medical Staff Services Department.


Qualifications
