Hiring Range: $30.21-$36.25. The maximum pay for this position is $42.29.

Children Family and Adult Services (a division within the Department of Human Services) is responsible for administering a range of critical family support programs including Early Head Start Child Welfare Adult Protection and other child maltreatment prevention programs.
Early Head Start (EHS) operates within the Children Family & Adult Services division of DHS. EHS in Eagle County is equally committed to the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) mission statement of the Office of Head Start promoting the school readiness of young children from low-income families by enhancing their cognitive social and emotional development.
EHS supports the comprehensive development of children from birth to age three and their families and pregnant women through home visitation and full-time child care services at three child care centers in Eagle County.
The Prevention Program Coordinator actively collaborates across ECDHS divisions and reports to the CFAS Prevention Manager. This position is based out of Edwards Colorado.
This position is part of the EHS team and the primary responsibilities include ensuring all EHS program operations meet federal requirements either through the direct administration of work or indirectly through the management of collaborative partnerships and contracts. EHS program operations include:
- Education and Child Development Services;
- Health and Mental Health Program Services;
- Family and Community Engagement Program Services;
- Additional Services for Children with Disabilities;
- Transition Services;
- Services to Enrolled Pregnant Women; and
- Program Management and Quality Improvement
Once this workflow has been established this position may be assigned to support and coordinate work for additional child maltreatment prevention programming at ECDHS.
Essential Functions
Program Planning and Oversight Systems
- Promote and use a Two-Generation strengths-based approach to honor and partner with families in program decision-making at all levels
- Establish and oversee procedures to ensure program meets Head Start Program Performance Standards in all content areas
- Directly manage program workflow for content areas and manage contracts with partners who complete work for content areas
- Collaborate with EHS employees enrolled families and community partners to ensure program meets all federal requirements
- Understand and utilize program tools including Parents As Teachers Ready Rosie curriculum Teaching Strategies Gold assessments and ChildPlus database
- Compile and analyze data from ongoing assessments to track child progress
- Support in the creation and submission of annual grant reporting requirements
- Follow EHS reporting requirement procedure and therefore raise complaints/issues to Division Deputy Director and Region 8 representative
Ongoing Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
- In collaboration with program leaders track and evaluate data and progress towards program school readiness and program improvement goals objectives and action steps
- Engage with and present to governing bodies about program status
- Partner with the EHS Eligibility Recruitment Selection Enrollment Attendance (ERSEA) Coordinator to complete annual Program Information Report
- Co-Lead comprehensive monitoring plan and complete monitoring visits at all contracted child care partners twice per year
Ongoing Training and Professional Development
- Participate fully in training experiences and complete professional development plans as required
- Gain and maintain expertise in the Early Head Start policies and practices Head Start Program Performance Standards Parents as
- Teachers curriculum Teaching Strategies GOLD Ready Rosie and Child Plus databases
- Abide by the Early Head Start Standards of Conduct
Perform other related duties as assigned or required to assure program quality coverage and continuity
Qualifications
Education Experience Licensure Certification or Registration:
- A Bachelors degree in human services social work early childhood education or a related field is required
- Two years of experience in working with families children educational systems child development systems or low-income families or any combination of education and experience that produces the required knowledge skills and abilities and experience
- Must possess a valid Colorado drivers license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
- The ability to pass a background investigation.
- Reliable transportation required.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Knowledge of Early Head Start or Head Start programs preferred
- Knowledge in child development preferred
- Strong writing skills ability to analyze data and complete various grant reporting requirements
- A strategic thinker and collaborator with strong communication skills and the ability to write and speak persuasively
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work with staff community members and contracted partners at all socio-ecological levels
- Exceptional judgment strong work ethics and the ability to adapt to rapid organizational change are mandatory
- Approach to working with others that is empathetic nonjudgmental respectful and professional
- Capacity to problem solve handle crisis and prioritize competing demands
- Ability to work within Google platform and ability to learn program specific databases.
