The CLS Mechanic is responsible for inspecting maintaining monitoring and repairing company equipment and tools including hydraulic systems and diesel and small engines ensuring scheduled equipment upkeep managing inventory collaborating with crew leaders on vehicle repairs complying with regulations and prioritizing safety through adherence to protocols to ensure operational efficiency. This is a seasonal position depending on the regional location.
Inspect maintain and repair company equipment tools and vehicles including hydraulic systems diesel engines and small engines.
Work on complex equipment such as commercial mowers reel mowers and spray equipment and ensure cutting units and blades are sharpened regularly.
Adhere to safety protocols perform vehicle inspections and operate company vehicles as required.
Complete required paperwork.
Perform inventory checks order supplies and maintain facility cleanliness.
Must be at least 18 years of age to work in the field.
Must be at least 21 years of age to be a Department of Transportation (DOT) certified driver for specific vehicles or equipment.
Two years of experience in equipment maintenance including mowers small engine repair or equivalent education.
Ability to complete required safety courses upon hire and complete Davey Career Development (CDP) books.
Ability to obtain and maintain required licenses and certifications.
Ability to operate power equipment.
