Job Summary and Description:

Looking for an experienced Facilities Electrical Engineer to be part of the design construction commissioning and sustaining operations for our new state of the art high volume manufacturing Fab and existing technology development fab in Boise ID. The Facilities Electrical Engineer at Micron Technology Inc. is responsible for working in a team environment with parallel engineering subject areas to analyze operational efficiency activities identify cost effective sustaining and manufacturing improvements and provide design input on projects. Will provide input for operations maintenance and troubleshooting of all electrical distribution systems and equipment. This position works directly with the operations team technicians and outsourced vendor maintenance teams monitoring systems parameters via intelligent systems such as SPC/IOT and SCADA (Schneider Electric) ensuring they are running within specifications. The site has dynamic voltage recovery and dynamic UPS systems for bridging power bumps and outages. The engineer is also responsible for the overall electrical system integrity including routine short circuit analysis coordination studies arc flash analysis updates reliability predictive system improvements and for tracking system loads forecasting consumption and maintaining utility budgets. This posting requires a hard work ethic and diligent attention to detail. The Facilities Electrical Engineer must have the pertinent people skills that enable the coordination with other system owners maintenance crews and construction trades to drive projects and daily tasks. They will be responsible for developing the operations and maintenance documentation collaborating with vendors providing services and providing design engineering inputs for existing system modification upgrades and new equipment installations. The Facilities Electrical Engineer will create review and flawlessly complete electrical switching procedures required to move loads for maintenance and construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and oversee the installation of high to medium voltage electrical systems for the semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement energy-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with local state and federal laws and standards.
  • Actively participate in all EHS-related electrical system and safety discussions and problem solving.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or related engineering fields.
  • 3 years of experience as a Facilities Electrical Engineer within an industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes standards and regulations (e.g. OSHA NFPA UL).
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and tools such as SKM EasyPower and ETAP
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling design software such as AutoCAD Revit and Navisworks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Three or more years of electrical facilities/plant design and operations experience within the semiconductor industry.
  • Solid understanding of energy management systems and sustainable practices.
