Job Description

We are currently seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Controller. The Controller is a key member of the leadership team responsible for managing all aspects of the firms financial operations. This includes financial reporting budgeting forecasting compliance internal controls and supporting business strategy. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting and finance preferably with experience in a professional services or architecture/engineering/design environment.

The candidate must possess excellent organizational analytical and communication skills high attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a creative fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and manage the firms accounting operations including general ledger accounts payable/receivable payroll and job costing.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage firm-wide budgets forecasts and financial planning models.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance identifying trends risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with local state and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity planning to ensure ongoing operational stability.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls accounting policies and financial procedures.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning profitability analysis and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with external auditors tax advisors and banking institutions.
  • Support project administrators with financial tracking invoicing and profitability reporting.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting/finance.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Experience in architecture engineering or professional services firms highly preferred.
  • A strong understanding of GAAP financial reporting and compliance standards.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Deltek Ajera BQE Core or similar platforms).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling tools.
