Collins Engineers Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experiencedCAD Technicianto join the team in ourPortsmouth NHorEast Greenwich RI ideal candidate is a detail-oriented drafting professional with strong expertise in AutoCAD Civil3D and other relevant design software. They excel at reviewing engineering data preparing detailed plan sheets and applying industry standards to produce high-quality and cohesive plan sets. Additionally they are highly organized in maintaining project files with precision and upholding CAD drafting guidelines.This role contributes to the overall success of the organization by performing the following duties:
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews rough sketches drawings specifications and other engineering data received from Engineers.
- Prepares plan sheets from data and specifications submitted by engineers.
- Prepares cohesive plan sets for engineering design deliverables.
- Uses CAD techniques to perform applicable detailing work.
- Performs basic engineering and design tasks.
- Adds engineering data and applies engineering conventions to plan sets and alters drawings to conform to engineering changes.
- Compiles accurate unit take-offs for project cost estimates.
- Is responsible for the visual quality of drawings and plan sets.
- Fully understands and implements corporate CAD and drafting standards.
- Manages project directories and files for conformance with company standards.
- Drafts detailed drawings of structures.
- Other duties may be assigned.

The hourly rate will be estimated between $30/hr - $40/hr contingent on relevant experience.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- An Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design or Civil Engineering completion of a technical school technician program or equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years of drafting experience.
- Excellent skills in the use of AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with other drafting software including but not limited to Revit and RAM Structural Systems a plus.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- While in the field the employee may be required to walk in rugged conditions work in adverse weather conditions and stand up to eight hours or more at a time.
