Job Description

Technical Director for Performing Arts Department Oregon City High School is a comprehensive high school with approximately 2000 students located in the suburban Portland/Metro area. We are looking for staff that will continue our collective focus on engaging all learners at high levels while building students foundations for the 21st century. We are an AVID Certified school and are also working with the Center for High School Success with a focus on ninth grade success. We are proud of our rich history the variety of opportunities we offer to students to involve themselves in curricular and co-curricular activities that meet their unique interests and our consistently high graduation rates. The Technical Director works in the Performing Arts department with the Drama Teacher Band Director and Choir Director and supervises Technical Theatre students and student crew members for performances. This role serves as the lead for all building AV and Technical support for both the performing arts department and for the larger OCHS community.

Performance Responsibilities:

build paint and install scenery for drama productions.

and install lighting and sound equipment for performing arts department productions as well as other on campus performances and activities.

and maintain materials supplies and equipment.

maintenance and proper use of all rigging tools lighting and sound equipment schoolwide.

students and assist in the instruction of the Technical Theatre class.

students in crew positions at OCHS performing arts events and other activities and events as needed.

AV support for large scale events at OCHS including but not limited to assemblies performances and other events as needed.

Qualifications:

of methods and techniques of theatrical scenery design construction painting rigging lighting and sound design and implementation.

of materials and tools used in theatrical scenery design construction painting rigging lighting and sound installation.

of safe operation and maintenance of power tools rigging equipment lighting and sound equipment.

to work well in team situations.

to supervise students well.

in becoming involved in the whole OCHS community.

The salary is based upon the monthly Classified Salary Schedule of a Range 10 Step H (currently $20.97/hr) however this position is not a part of the Classified Bargaining Agreement and does not receive benefits leave pay or holiday pay.

NUMBER OF HOURS PER DAY: 5.5 HOURS PER DAY

NUMBER OF DAYS WORKED PER SCHOOL YEAR: 186 DAYS PER YEAR

HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $20.26 - $28.52 PER HOUR (RANGE 11)
