Job Description
Based at our Melbourne Burwood Campus or Geelong Waterfront Campus hybrid work arrangements
Full-time and fixed-term for 12 months from September 2025
HEW 7 $105933 - $% Superannuation
As a Philanthropic Leadership Giving Officer you will:
With enthusiasm identify qualify and cultivate prospective donors to support Deakins strategic fundraising priorities.
Conduct discovery meetings to assess donor interest and potential referring to major gift officers when appropriate and demonstrate your understanding of philanthropy
Use data insights from Deakin ARMS and related systems to qualify and manage donor prospects.
Be highly organised and maintain accurate and timely records of donor interactions in the Deakin Advancement CRM.
Coordinate donor engagement efforts and collaborate with the donor experience team to ensure seamless stewardship.
In a typical day you will:
Analyse complex information distil key issues and communicate clear logical solutions in simple terms.
Explore innovative approaches by drawing on diverse perspectives and applying creative problem-solving.
Prioritise tasks evaluate progress and select effective solutions while supporting and empowering your team.
Champion and implement change overcoming resistance and clearly communicating its purpose and benefits.
Build strong relationships seek and respond to feedback and promote positive wellbeing across your team and stakeholders.
To be successful youll have:
Relevant degree with substantial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven success in delivering small to medium scale fundraising programs and meeting financial targets ideally but not essentially in Higher Education.
Strong relationship-building and communication skills with experience in engaging donors and soliciting gifts.
Excellent organisational analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Experience working across diverse teams in complex organisations and managing a broad portfolio of relationships.
