Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Must have 2-4 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or a Medical Assistant Certification. Must have the ability to take vitals answer phones interact with patients regarding their medical issues schedule appointments backfill cancellations insurance authorization as appropriate and support the requirements of various providers. Must be knowledgeable in HIPAA. Experience in wound care / dressings required. Ability to be organized multi-task and have basic understanding of prioritizing patient emergencies. Knowledge of business office practices procedures and equipment required.
Computer Skills
General computer literacy necessary with proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Knowledge and proficiency with electronic health records highly desired.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee is frequently required to stand sit walk; reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger handle or feel; talk hear taste and smell. The employee must regularly lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close distance color peripheral or depth vision.
