Job Description

Job Title: Preschool Director (Reggio Emilia-Inspired)

Position Type: Full-Time 12-Month Exempt

Reports To: Head of School

Position Summary: CHCA is seeking a visionary and experienced Preschool Director to lead its Reggio Emilia-inspired program. The ideal candidate is passionate about emergent curriculum has a strong background in early childhood education and excels at building and supporting dynamic teaching and support teams. This is a leadership role that blends educational philosophy with operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide educational leadership aligned with the Reggio Emilia approach and CHCAs values
  • Oversee daily operations staffing enrollment budgeting and family engagement
  • Support and mentor teaching teams in documentation reflective practice and project work
  • Foster a school culture that values collaboration respect and creativity
  • Ensure compliance with local and state licensing and accreditation standards
  • Build strong relationships with families and act as a liaison between school and community
  • Maintain high standards of health safety and inclusivity in all aspects of the school
  • Represent the school in professional Reggio networks and ongoing pedagogical development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development or related field
  • Minimum of 35 years of early childhood leadership experience preferably in a Reggio Emilia-inspired setting
  • Deep understanding of Reggio Emilia principles and experience implementing emergent curriculum
  • Strong skills in team building coaching and educational leadership
  • Familiarity with pedagogical documentation and reflective practice
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must meet state licensing requirements including background checks and health clearances
