Job Description
As a Pathology Operations Coordinator you will work as part of a team that acts as the bridge between the histology / cytology lab technicians and the pathologists.
This role is a full-time position based in our lab in Barcelona.
In this role you may be responsible for any or all of the following:
- Must be a liaison between the technical laboratory pathologists external labs and managers.
- Responsible for case distribution and shipment of cases to pathologists.
- Mail management.
- Performs a variety of protocols for new procedures.
- Maintains and communicates schedules and changes in schedules.
- Manages inventory procures supplies and stocks.
- Responsible for general maintenance and overall cleanliness of equipment.
- Supports and maintains various processes systems and databases.
- Performs recordkeeping data collection and analysis.
- Provides support in pre-dictated medical reports.
- Performs administrative duties such as fill in submission forms preparing parcel deliveries files requisitions or mails to external labs.
What you will need to succeed:
- High School degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Associates degree or equivalent preferred.
- Must be reliable attendance is an essential function of the position.
- Fluency in Spanish. Good conversational English skills are recommended
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules standard operating procedures (SOPs) material safety data sheets (MSDSs) operating and maintenance instructions government rules and technical procedures.
- Ability to prioritize.
- Strong initiative and follow through.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as a team contributor.
- Good computer skills: Microsoft Office
Work environment and physical demands:
- May occasionally lift and move up to 10 kg
- May occasionally be exposed to laboratory bio medical waste fumes or chemicals and will be required to wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent this
