Job Description

As a Pathology Operations Coordinator you will work as part of a team that acts as the bridge between the histology / cytology lab technicians and the pathologists.
This role is a full-time position based in our lab in Barcelona.

In this role you may be responsible for any or all of the following:

  • Must be a liaison between the technical laboratory pathologists external labs and managers.
  • Responsible for case distribution and shipment of cases to pathologists.
  • Mail management.
  • Performs a variety of protocols for new procedures.
  • Maintains and communicates schedules and changes in schedules.
  • Manages inventory procures supplies and stocks.
  • Responsible for general maintenance and overall cleanliness of equipment.
  • Supports and maintains various processes systems and databases.
  • Performs recordkeeping data collection and analysis.
  • Provides support in pre-dictated medical reports.
  • Performs administrative duties such as fill in submission forms preparing parcel deliveries files requisitions or mails to external labs.

What you will need to succeed:

  • High School degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Associates degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be reliable attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • Fluency in Spanish. Good conversational English skills are recommended
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules standard operating procedures (SOPs) material safety data sheets (MSDSs) operating and maintenance instructions government rules and technical procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Strong initiative and follow through.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team contributor.
  • Good computer skills: Microsoft Office

Work environment and physical demands:

  • May occasionally lift and move up to 10 kg
  • May occasionally be exposed to laboratory bio medical waste fumes or chemicals and will be required to wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent this
