Your role at St John of God Social Outreach
We are seeking applications for Youth Workers to join our Bunbury team on a casual basis.
Principally to provide a high standard of care and quality service to the young people residing within St John of God Social Outreach (SJGSO) Horizon House. This involves creating a safe nurturing and empowering environment that supports the well-being and personal development of each young person through relationship-based care. In all aspects of their role the Youth Worker places the interests and well-being of young people at the forefront fostering a supportive respectful and nurturing environment that promotes growth and positive relationships
The Youth Worker shares responsibility with Management for ensuring that children/young people are safe in Horizon House programs acts in childrens/young peoples best interests and actively works to empower children/young people.
This role will involveAM & PMshifts includingsleep overs.
The Position
Provide safe and stable long term accommodation to a young people who are at risk of being homelessness.
Able to provide outreach therapeutic and practical support to meet the continuum of care arrangements for young people with complex needs.
Assist young people to realise their aspirations and potential integration into mainstream society.
Provide support to young people in areas including independent living skills involvement in education training and employment services.
Enhance a young persons wellbeing and personal development through engagement with the broader resources and supports available in the community.
You will have an understanding of the special needs of adolescents and trauma-informed care together with recent experience working with at-risk young people extensive experience in an area related to youth work and knowledge of the Privacy Legislation and Occupational Health & Safety Act Regulations.
Successful applicants will hold a Certificate IV in Youth Work or similar States Drivers Licence CPR/First Aid and Working with Children Card.

Casual hourly rate: $46.67 to $50.05 per hour (inclusive of casual loading) plus 12% superannuation
