The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the positionofEmergency Services Coordinator in the FireDepartmentto help build disaster resilience in Berkeleys government and community. In this role you will join a four-person emergency management team that collaborates with colleagues across the City organization as well as Berkeley institutions and community groups.
As part of the Fire Department our team works with departments to develop emergency plans and procedures conduct trainings and exercises operate alert and warning systems and manage our community readiness programming using an equity lens. During emergencies and disasters we coordinate the Citys Emergency Operations Center providing critical support to the City organization and the community. We value learning from both history and the latest science and pride ourselves in our willingness to change our approaches to constantly improve.
