This position would be responsible for providing instructional support for nursing and allied health students in skills and/or simulation labs and clinical settings as well as providing instruction for designated clinical courses.
The Lower Columbia College Nursing Program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing and prepares approximately 115 graduates each year for registered nurse licensure.
Lecture rate is $80.68 per contact hour ($887.48 per credit).
Lab rate is $60.08 per contact hour ($1321.76 per credit).
Field-based experience rate is $43.64 per contact hour ($1440.16 per credit).
Quarterly salary is paid at the current lab rate plus a nursing faculty retention stipend (equal to20.666% for 25-26 academic year) per the current LCCFAHE Bargaining Agreement.

Fostering Student Learning and Development
Deliver engaging and effective clinical instruction:Guide students in various practical settings (clinical sites simulation skills labs) to develop essential nursing competencies. This includes adapting your teaching approach to incorporate diverse learning styles and utilizing instructional technologies effectively.
Promote critical thinking and clinical judgment:Cultivate a learning environment that encourages students to analyze problem-solve and make appropriate clinical decisions.
Assess and provide constructive feedback:Regularly evaluate student performance and offer timely individualized feedback to support their growth and achievement of learning outcomes.
Ensure student and patient safety:Uphold the highest standards of safety in all clinical and lab environments.
Model professional nursing behavior:Serve as a role model for students demonstrating ethical conduct compassionate care and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Collaborate with the nursing education team:Work effectively with program directors faculty and staff to address student progress curriculum needs and program goals.
Maintain currency in nursing practice and education:Regularly update your knowledge and skills to provide students with the most relevant and evidence-based instruction.
Adhere to program and college policies:Uphold all academic and administrative policies procedures and standards.
Contribute to program quality:Participate in ongoing program assessment and evaluation activities to help ensure continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate degree innursing from an accredited institutionorbaccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited institution with a graduate degree inahealth education-related field from an accredited institution.
Active unencumbered registered nurse licensure in Washington State (or multi-state license MSL approved by Washington State Board of Nursingupon hire.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providersupon hire.
Expertise and at least three years of clinical practice in medical/surgical nursing or a combination of medical/surgical and specialty practice requiring direct client care.
Successful completion of background clearanceafter hire.
Proof of required immunizations and a negative drug screen per clinical agency requirementsafter hire.
Commitment to serve the needs of a diverse student body representing a wide range of ages abilities ethnicities education levels and cultural backgrounds.
Preferred Requirements
Experience teaching adult learners.
Expertise in using a Learning Management System such as Canvas.
Experience in curriculum development(and/or maintenance)and instructional assessment.
Nursing experience in specialty areas in addition to general medical/surgical is welcome.
