QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree from accredited college or university preferred.
- Possess professional certification in transportation through TAPT NAPT TASBO or equivalent preferred or willing to obtain.
- Possess and maintain a Texas CDL-B or A P & S endorsements with acceptable driving record as measured by the School Bus Drivers Record Evaluation Criteria
- Ability to lead motivate and develop strong teams.
- Ability to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions to resolve issues effectively.
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local laws and CFISD Board policy and regulations.
- Maintain high safety standards and provide regular training for staff.
- Develop and implement response plans for emergencies or unexpected disruptions.
- Collaborate with vendors for fuel maintenance and other services.
- Track performance metrics and prepare reports for senior transportation management.
- Ability to provide high level complex analyses of operational trends and results.

- Minimum of seven (7) years of recent successful experience in student transportation operations preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years successful supervisory experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee and manage the daily operation of the assigned transportation center and other centers as needed to ensure students are transported safely efficiently and on time.
- Serve as the primary contact for school administrators parents and community members regarding student transportation concerns and service updates.
- Assist the Associate Director and Director of Transportation in the administration of the department.
- Assist in the development evaluation and enforcement of transportation guidelines and procedures.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with department personnel and district personnel parents and the community to always provide a positive customer service experience.
- Manage school bus routing scheduling and dispatching to optimize operations and service delivery.
- Review on-time performance at assigned campuses and address any concerns that arise.
- Identify and implement improvements for route efficiency fleet optimization and overall service enhancements.
- Work with campus staff and parents/guardians in maintaining the appropriate behavior regarding the transportation of students.
- Ensure that all staff are aligned with the expectations of the Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook when submitting student safety reports.
- Ensure that student safety reports are being handled in a timely manner by appropriate campus personnel and report findings to Assistant Director of Student Safety and Support and Associate Director.
- Supervise evaluate train and support assigned transportation personnel to maintain high service standards.
- Ensure compliance with staff check-ins pre-trip and post-trip inspections vehicle cleanliness and proper parking procedures.
- Coordinate recruitment and training in collaboration with Transportation Human Resources.
- Review and maintain retention data for all staff at assigned transportation center.
- Evaluate job performance of center staff to ensure effectiveness and professional growth.
- Make sound recommendations concerning personnel redirection placement transfer retention and dismissal in collaboration with Transportation Human Resources.
- Responsible for the continual training and professional development of center staff (i.e. driving student management safety and rules procedures and guidelines).
- Assume responsibility of safety officer for the assigned transportation center vehicles and personnel.
- Investigate and report all accidents incidents and collisions pertaining to assigned center.
- Maintain safety standards in conformance with federal state and insurance regulations and enforce a program of prevention safety.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
- Perform other duties as assigned contributing to the overall success of the CFISD Transportation Services Department and a commitment to safe student-focused services.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises assigned center personnel and indirectly supervises all staff.
- Full management responsibilities of assigned center.
- Collaborates with senior transportation leadership to develop strategies and broad departmental objectives; establishes methods techniques and evaluation criteria for projects programs and people in the achievement of objectives.
- Establishes achievement objectives and assignments for multiple disciplines and functional areas.
- Evaluates recommendations of others deciding on course of action in ambiguous situations and oversees the deployment of innovative solutions.
