Job Description

Job Summary

San Jos State University is seeking a detail-oriented service-driven individual to join our Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach team as an Undergraduate Admissions Evaluator. This position plays a critical role in evaluating prospective students academic records and ensuring accurate and efficient processing of admissions applications in compliance with CSU and university policies. Reporting to the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions and receiving lead direction from the Lead Evaluator the incumbent will apply advanced knowledge of CSU admissions criteria to evaluate domestic and international applications for undergraduate admission with a primary focus on transfer and freshman candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and apply CSU policies Title 5 regulations and Chancellors Office directives to admissions evaluations
  • Evaluate domestic and international student applications and transcripts for eligibility.
  • Perform transcript and transfer credit evaluations for advanced standing and graduation requirements
  • Provide guidance to students families and counselors regarding admissions criteria appeal processes and document requirements
  • Support Admissions Operations through timely processing and accurate data entry
  • Engage with Enrollment Services team meetings and collaborative initiatives across the division

Required Qualifications

  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences public or business administration or a jobrelated field
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field. A masters degree in a jobrelated field may be substituted for one year of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • Experience working in a higher education enrollment services environment admissions records and/or evaluations
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting college/high school transcripts documents process requirements and university policies regarding admissions and enrollment
  • Experience with PeopleSoft and customer service-based technology systems
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Experience in communicating admissions and or student services policies and procedures to community college university or high school constituents

Compensation

Classification: Student Service Professional II
Anticipated Hiring Range: $5083/month - $5146/month
CSU Salary Range: $5083/month - $7228/month
