Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to review process and complete Federal IV-E and IV-A eligibility determinations for drawing down Federal funding for the Department of Child Safety (DCS). The IV-E PSE 3 position process eligibility determinations with regard to federal entitlements for Title IV-E and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) programs which requires daily interaction with the Comprehensive Medical and Dental Program (CMDP) Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility (DBME) Family Assistance Administration (FAA) US Social Security Administration (SSA) Adoption Subsidy (AS) and Interstate Compact on Adoption and Medical Assistance (ICAMA) Intra/Interstate programs. The position conducts complex eligibility determinations in a timely manner using federal and sate requirements agency policy and procedures.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

All work including remote work should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.

Job Duties:
  • Examine evaluate and approve or deny complex eligibility determinations for children in foster care with regard to federal entitlements for Title IV-E and Title XIX. This position requires research and analysis of information obtained from case manager records Guardian Arizona Guide System Wage Inquiry (BG01) HEA courts and other sources to make accurate determinations and includes requesting information via phone and e-mail. Reviews interprets and applies Federal/State laws statutes and regulations for accurate and timely eligibility determinations.
  • Review and process annual re-determinations for open/ongoing cases for continued Title IV-E eligibility.
  • Provide technical assistance to internal/external agencies and CPS managers with regard to interpreting policies and Title IV-E and Title XIX eligibility standards. May act as lead worker in the absence of the unit supervisor provide technical assistance to subordinates and co-workers regarding work methods processes rules regulations policies and procedures. May train and mentor new staffs work activities.
  • Attend staff meetings training sessions etc.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

Selective Preference(s):

A high school diploma or General Equivalence Diploma (GED) or higher level of education.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

The ability to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.
