Job Description:
Position Purpose summary:
Help coordinate and facilitate Community and Family Services programs.
Key Accountabilities:
- Willingness & ability to work within the mission vision & values of The Salvation Army and Ridge Meadows Ministries
- Support where and when possible the efforts of all residents and co-workers
- Use a client-centered approach by consistently demonstrating compassion respect and empathy in the administration of policies and procedures
- Coordinate transportation and luggage for camp participants
- Coordinate and distributing over 400 packs with school supplies
- Conduct initial intake assessments determining immediate needs and support needed by the client
- Determine Clients needs and Prepare Emergency Food Hampers to be picked up or delivered
- Attend Public Relations events as requested
- Give support as requested for regular programs and services
- Organize and restock supplies
- Assist in administration tasks such as reception recording statistics compiling reports
Working Conditions:
- Working environment is typically in the office in generally agreeable conditions but could also include other environments such as outside or in a warehouse setting.
Education Qualifications and Certifications:
- Between 16-30 years of age at start of Employment as per Canada Summer Jobs Program eligibility requirements
- Strong service ethic and a friendly disposition with the public with effective communication skills
- Adaptability to change and frequent interruptions
- Team oriented and able to take initiative with ability to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Agreeable to a flexible non-routine schedule
- High standards of integrity and confidentiality
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements
- Computer and word processing ability
- Possess valid Food Safe CPR First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis certification or willingness to obtain
- A current valid BC drivers license and clean driving record
- Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army in its sole discretion (i.e. The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.

Compensation:
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions internal equity and candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
