Drug and Alcohol Inpatient Unit 44 beds

About the role

Brisbane Private Hospital is lookingfor a suitablyqualified Clinical Nurse to join our established Drug and Alcohol Unit on a full-time permanent basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care is provided.

About us:

Damascus Health Services is a 44 bed unit located in Brisbane Private Hospital in Spring Hill. We provide a confidential and flexible approach to the care and treatment of people with problems related to the use of alcohol and/or prescribed and over-the-counter drugs

As a Clinical Nurse your responsibilities will include:

  • Adhering to NSQHS standards and Hospital policy and procedure
  • Providing evidenced based nursing care
  • Liaising with the multidisciplinary team
  • Ensuring patient and staff safety
  • Ensuring eLearning and mandatory training is completed on a regular basis
  • Liaising with Psychiatrists and other member of MDT

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • 5 years experience in a Mental Health inpatient setting
  • Addictions/detox experience preferrable (not essential)
  • A demonstrated interest in the field of addictive behaviours specialisation in the field substantial experience or postgraduate qualifications or Continual Professional Development
  • Demonstrate ability to deliver high quality patient care.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills
  • Certificate IV Workplace Assessment & Training (TAE)
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Demonstrated experience in eLearning platforms
  • Knowledge of adult learning practises and contemporary education practises
  • Post graduate qualifications in mental health or addiction disorders (Desirable)
