The Quality Control Manager for Mechanical Manufacturing Products position is responsible for implementing a Quality Control system and team that promotes customer satisfaction. The position will champion continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives to develop an effective Quality Control system for mechanical products such as machined parts mechanical assemblies composite assemblies welded assemblies painted or coated assemblies flight hardware fabrication and assemblies etc. To explore and learn more click here!

Primary Responsibilities
Serves as the primary quality control authority for problem identification resolution loss reporting and continuous improvement.
Manages quality control personnel on a day-to-day basis.
Previous experience managing Quality Engineers
Plan quality control staffing needs based on product manufacturing requirements and delegate activities to Quality Engineer Technician and Inspector staff.
Establishes and implements metrics (process capability control charts measurement quality) for monitoring Quality Control system effectiveness.
Leads root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.
Establishes collection and analysis systems of statistical data to predict trends that will affect improvement of product quality.
Develops quality planning methods for all product lines within the plant.
Interacts with customers to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel.
Initiates and implements quality improvement activities as appropriate (e.g. Kaizen Six Sigma) to raise the performance of the plants product lines.
Reports to Sr. Quality Management on quality issues trends and losses.
Participates in internal and external quality audits.
Collaborates with DCMA and other government and/or customer quality assurance organizations
Interfaces with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality control and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
All other reasonable duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Candidate must havea Bachelors degree with 5 years of prior relevant work experience of a Masters degree with 3 years of prior relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree a HS diploma/GED with 10 years of experience in a QA/QC systems implementation or management in a manufacturing/production based environment will be considered
Strong problem-solving skills
Management of Quality Engineers
Experience in a QMS compliant with AS9100/ISO9001.
Candidate must be able to obtain/maintain a final secret clearance
Candidates must be a resident of or willing to relocate to the Huntsville
Preferred Qualifications
ASQC is preferred
Experience in leading skilled professionals in a matrix environment
Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint accounting software a plus
Direct experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Quality Module implementation and a plus
