Description: Seaside Charter teachers guide learning in pursuit of curriculum goals by establishing and communicating clear objectives for all lessons units and employ a variety of instructional media and techniques that consider any physical limitations of the location as well as the needs and capabilities of the participating individuals or student groups as they strive to implement the districts instructional goals and objectives. Essential Functions:- Perform part-time instruction for position teaching kindergarten through eighth grade students in the locations and at times designatedon knitting crochet sewing cross-stitch basic weaving and toy making.
- Monitor inventory procure supplies and maintain budget.
- Before the commencement of the school year plan a program of study (with syllabus) designed to meet the individual needs interests and abilities of the students; prepare for classes assigned; be expected to show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity levels and interests.
- Provide supervision to protect students from situations detrimental to learning or conditions that might be harmful to their physical and/or mental health and safety; take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Maintain accurate records as required by law District policy and administrative regulations.
- Monitor potential student learning disabilities on an ongoing basis; seek assistance from designated specialists as required.
- Assist SSC administration in the implementation of any policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
- Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure; maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner; encourage students to maintain established standards of classroom behavior.
- Devote the necessary time for preparation lesson plans and grading papers outside of class instruction time.
- May be required to cover additional classrooms; observe two or more main lesson classes per year.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Maintain class schedule as outlined by the school principal.
- Attend mid-August and End of Year meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:Proven competence and proficiency of required handwork skills- Successful experience teaching of public Waldorf pedagogy or Waldorf handwork training
- Knowledge of public-school requirements
