Platform UX/UI Designer Contract - 12 months - Daily Rate - $800 incl. super
Were looking for a UX/UI Designer to join on a contract basis in Melbourne and play a key role in shaping the user experience across core customer-facing platforms. This role will see you working on web and mobile applications internal service tools and partner portals that are central to delivering seamless digital experiences.
Youll collaborate closely with product managers delivery managers developers and the design team to bring intuitive visually engaging and user-centred solutions to life. Your work will help improve usability customer engagement and retention across multiple platforms.
What youll be doing
Designing user-centred interfaces for web and mobile platforms that are both intuitive and visually appealing.
Creating wireframes prototypes and mockups to communicate design concepts and user flows.
Working with product and engineering teams to ensure solutions are technically feasible and aligned with business goals.
Establishing and maintaining design systems style guides and reusable UI components to ensure consistency.
Conducting and contributing to user testing gathering feedback and iterating designs to enhance overall experience.
Designing micro-interactions and animations to improve usability and delight.
Ensuring accessibility compliance (WCAG standards) and inclusive design practices.
Using analytics and behavioural data to inform design decisions and optimise for engagement and completion rates.
Tackling complex design challenges especially in transactional and workflow-heavy systems.
Preparing designs for smooth developer handover with an understanding of front-end technologies (React HTML CSS).
About you
Experienced in end-to-end UX/UI design across web and mobile applications.
Skilled in creating wireframes prototypes and interactive design solutions.
Strong collaborator who can work cross-functionally with product and engineering teams.
Familiar with design systems and passionate about maintaining consistency across platforms.
Knowledgeable in accessibility and inclusive design standards.
Analytical and able to use data to guide design decisions.
Comfortable solving complex design challenges in transactional environments.
Bonus if you have hands-on knowledge of front-end development concepts (React HTML CSS).
