Carlow University is currently accepting applications for the Director of Out of School Learning for our Campus Lab Director of Out of School Learning is responsible for the leadership and day-to-day operations of CLSs Extended Day Program and Summer Camp. This includes managing programming for students at both the Trinity (PreK) and Tiernan (K8th) campuses. The Director ensures that all programming is developmentally appropriate enriching and aligned with the mission of CLS. Key responsibilities include staffing scheduling behavior management parent communication billing and program design that prioritizes student engagement safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Extended Day Program (School Year): - Plan coordinate and manage Extended Day services at both Trinity and Tiernan campuses.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Extended Day families and communicate regularly with teachers regarding student needs and schedules.
- Recruit hire train and supervise Extended Day staff.
- Implement consistent behavior management strategies and maintain a safe respectful environment.
- Maintain accurate student attendance and manage all billing invoicing and payment tracking.
- Order and manage program supplies snacks and materials.
- Develop and offer after-school enrichment opportunities (e.g. art STEM movement mindfulness) in alignment with student interests and school goals.
Summer Camp Program:
- Design and oversee a six-week CLS Summer Camp with both academic and recreational activities.
- Recruit hire train and evaluate Summer Camp staff including teachers and counselors.
- Coordinate payroll processes and manage staff schedules.
- Handle student registration including enrollment of both CLS and non-CLS students and oversee invoicing and payment collection.
- Ensure all programming is engaging diverse and age-appropriate.
- Maintain necessary materials and ensure the safety and smooth daily operations of summer programming.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree required (Education or related field preferred).
- Previous experience in child care education camp leadership or program management strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple sites.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach with families and school personnel.
- Proficiency in billing software spreadsheets and registration platforms is a plus.
- Must be dependable professional and able to maintain a consistent on-site presence during scheduled hours.
