Acquired by the Kamamoto Inc. in 2020 the Porter Group have built long term relationships across a diverse range of industries with our brands including Porter Plant and Madica. A recent movement has led to the opportunity to recruit a new CFO. The role reports directly into the Managing Director and has accountability for the Finance Treasury Legal Commercial and Property areas of the business. It is an exciting time to join the Porter Group as the business continues to grow and expand its network of branches and product offerings. The role will be central in developing and implementing the Groups ambitious growth plans from a strategic finance and commercial perspective.
Whilst this position can be located in Derrimut or Ballarat the successful incumbent will be required to spend 2-3 days in the Ballarat office.
Supporting the Managing Director and Leadership Team key responsibilities include;
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support growth and business performance including budgeting forecasting business analytics and financial modelling.
- Provide expert advice to senior leadership to optimise business performance and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and associated reporting including ASIC and ATO.
- Meet internal reporting requirements and information requests ensuring deadlines are met and quality information is provided.
- Presentation of accurate and timely financial information including the preparation of month end quarterly and annual accounts with meaningful analysis and commentary ensuring the needs of Users of the financial information are satisfied.
- Maintain and enhance the integrity of the Groups financial and accounting ERP and develop policies processes and procedures to improve the Groups internal control environment.
- Develop and implement reporting system enhancements to meet the evolving requirements of the business including asset and branch performance.
- Manage the Groups Treasury obligations ensuring adequate funding facilitates are in place to meet the Groups growth plans reporting obligations are achieved and provide the required information for the Lenders annual reviews.
- Ensure a robust risk management environment is maintained. Develop review and continually improve the Groups compliance internal controls and governance processes including Customer contract legal reviews.
- Manage the Groups property portfolio covering owned and leased.
- Provide positive leadership and manage the Finance Team ensuring team members are meeting the requirements of their roles
To be successful in the role you will need to be;
- Tertiary qualification in accounting/commerce essential
- CA/CPA Qualified
- Experience in plant hire and construction industry / or equivalent
- Experience in a contracts based / asset intensive business
- History in a medium to large size organisation with multi-site operations
- Highly organised and efficient with an attention to detail and the ability to prioritise multiple projects and tasks
- A team player who is technically astute who adopts a pragmatic commercial and solutions focus
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Data driven decisive and focused on execution
- Understands business drivers to improve Company performance
- Curious and acts with a sense of urgency
