Candidates must hold a Bachelors Degree (teacher certification/licensure is preferred). Candidates having academic preparation in or experience teaching middle school social studies is preferred. Candidates should be familiar with the Massachusetts State Standards for social Title: Classroom Teacher Social Studies Grades 5-8Job Summary: To plan organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a middle school learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the : Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school. Should have knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic of subjects taught instructional methods strategies and curriculum for instruction with logically sequenced objectives based on adopted curriculum and submit plans according to the school a positive and safe learning environment for all accurate complete and timely records of students progress and development. Keep students grades and attendance records up-to-date. Promptly submit all required reports. Assign and grade class work homework assessments and assignments providing meaningful feedback. Excellent communication organization and classroom management in parent-teacher conferences and other school-related activities which foster the highest academic objectives. Participation in professional development opportunities and ongoing student observance of school regulations which are contained in the Parent-Student Handbook.
