Introduction

With headquarters in Troms Norway Kongsberg Satellite Services AS (KSAT) supplies ground station services for satellite space-to-ground communications. KSAT is the worlds largest supplier of telemetry tracking and command (TT&C) and data acquisition services for non-geostationary satellites.

Founded in 1968 KSAT has grown to over 500 employees with an annual revenue of approximately $200M. About 50% of KSATs annual revenue comes from the US. The wholly owned subsidiary KSAT Inc. (aka. KSAT USA) office is located in the Denver Colorado area and is rapidly growing in response to strong US Government and industry demand for commercial ground segment services.

Summary of Position

KSAT is seeking talented Software Developers to join our team. We develop and deliver data information and services based on satellites and serve customers worldwide.

As an operator of the worlds largest ground network we have unique scaling and control needs for our network of ground stations. We rely on continuously developing ourselves and our solutions to meet new user needs new technology and scaling.

As a developer in our Ground Station Control team you will play a key role in developing KSATs ground station control system. KSATs control system is developed in-house and is strategically critical to KSAT.

Your key responsibilities as a Software Developer at KSAT will include:

• Developing and delivering high-quality API-first applications and services
• Participating in architecture and design decisions with the team and its stakeholders
• Contributing to the team making good technology and design decisions
• Continuously working to improve your own and the teams processes

To thrive as a Software Developer at KSAT we believe you have:

• A minimum of a bachelors degree in technology science math or related field
• 5 years of relevant experience in development
• Experience programming in at least one of Rust Python or Go
• Practical experience with AWS cloud platforms
• Knowledge of or hands-on experience with the design and development of distributed systems
• Strong problem-solving skills
• A basic understanding of network setup and common communication protocols (e.g. TCP/IP HTTP MQTT) and how software interacts within such environments.

Compensation

The target compensation is a combination of a base salary plus a discretionary bonus with total on-target earnings range of $120K -$155K.
