At Hitachi Energy we are investing to establish and develop an Operation Center of Excellence in Madrid Spain (ESOPC) within Grid & Power Quality Solutions business in Europe (HBUEU). Therefore we are seeking highly qualified engineers in the fields of Power Electronics Grid Integration and Research and Development (R&D) to join us in this exciting opportunity.
We are looking for aPower System Studies Engineerto join ourGlobal eMobility Engineering team where youll contribute to the development of cutting-edgeDC charging infrastructure with a special focus onelectric bus fleets.
How youll make an impact
Conducting power system studies like Load Flow Short Circuit Arc Flash and Power Quality (Power factor & Harmonics Analysis) studies using software tools.
Understanding the Grid performance requirements and compliance.
Perform reliability & availability calculations for different configurations & optimize.
Perform sizing calculations and prepare Single Line Diagram with available products.
Ensure compliance with Customers specifications and requirements.
Provide technical support during tendering and project execution phases
Ensure safety compliance and engineering excellence throughout the project
Your background
Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical engineering with a focus on Power Systems or Power Electronics.
3-4 years of experience in MV/LV power distribution systems and power systems engineering.
Good understanding of Medium and Low voltage AC & DC distribution systems and modelling.
Strong knowledge of engineering tools and software (e.g. ETAP MathCAD).
Strong Analytical skills and attention to details.
Proactive results-driven mindset with strong teamwork and communication skills.
Committed to safety quality and continuous learning.
Fluent in English; Spanish French or German is an advantage
Willingness to travel: Required 10% of the time.
