The Opportunity

At Hitachi Energy we are investing to establish and develop an Operation Center of Excellence in Madrid Spain (ESOPC) within Grid & Power Quality Solutions business in Europe (HBUEU). Therefore we are seeking highly qualified engineers in the fields of Power Electronics Grid Integration and Research and Development (R&D) to join us in this exciting opportunity.

We are looking for aPower System Studies Engineerto join ourGlobal eMobility Engineering team where youll contribute to the development of cutting-edgeDC charging infrastructure with a special focus onelectric bus fleets.

How youll make an impact

  • Conducting power system studies like Load Flow Short Circuit Arc Flash and Power Quality (Power factor & Harmonics Analysis) studies using software tools.

  • Understanding the Grid performance requirements and compliance.

  • Perform reliability & availability calculations for different configurations & optimize.

  • Perform sizing calculations and prepare Single Line Diagram with available products.

  • Ensure compliance with Customers specifications and requirements.

  • Provide technical support during tendering and project execution phases

  • Ensure safety compliance and engineering excellence throughout the project

Your background

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical engineering with a focus on Power Systems or Power Electronics.

  • 3-4 years of experience in MV/LV power distribution systems and power systems engineering.

  • Good understanding of Medium and Low voltage AC & DC distribution systems and modelling.

  • Strong knowledge of engineering tools and software (e.g. ETAP MathCAD).

  • Strong Analytical skills and attention to details.

  • Proactive results-driven mindset with strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Committed to safety quality and continuous learning.

  • Fluent in English; Spanish French or German is an advantage

Willingness to travel: Required 10% of the time.
