Buyer - Powertrain Sensors and Vehicle Dynamic Modules

In this position...

Ford Motor Company continues to expand and accelerate its global Electrification (EV) plan and deliver smart Connected vehicles. Our supplier business partners remain a critical and strategic part of this growth. Ford Motor Company Digital Technology is looking for an experienced Electronics professional to join our team. This Supply Chain-based team is composed of Negotiating/Technical Experts who along with our Engineering Supplier Technical Assistance and Manufacturing teams will help ensure world class delivery by our supply base.

The candidate will interact with Suppliers and Ford Sites globally. In this critical role you will:

  • Join a high performing DT Supply Chain Lead team to ensure security of supply of optimal costed electronic and mechanic BoM for our next generation Digital Tech Engine and Powertrain Sensors and VDM
  • Establish/strengthen global supplier relationships enabling Ford to better align with and influence supplier technology roadmaps.
    • Often leaning heavily on the current published cycle plan information due to modular supplier sourcing strategies.
  • Develop Cost and Capacity strategies with PD/STA and to ensure security of supply at best cost
  • Lead issuing RFQs to source next generation programs and align with suppliers on global supply strategy.
    • Collaborate with PD to source programs that meet technical and quality requirements to allow delivery of state-of-the-art smart connected vehicles with a safe launch strategy.
  • Engage Sensor/VDM supplier partners at senior level to develop strong partnerships. Hold regular Business reviews with suppliers
  • Manage Supplier emerging significant issues (supply issues Quality Cost etc.) and drive internal risk mitigation

Qualifications

Youll have...

  • Bachelors degree preferably in Engineering or Supply Chain (Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical or Business)
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Possess excellent negotiation strategy communication presentation and facilitation skills; those needed to interact with external and internal stakeholders

Even better you may have...

  • Prior specialized focus on electronic sensors technology/industry experience
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to build strong and effective relationships across technical and business teams globally
  • Advanced knowledge of direct electronics supplier experience valued
  • 2 or more years of experience with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
  • A genuine interest for improvement and a commitment to global change beneficial
