General Summary:This position assists with the ministry of the parish by managing the bookkeeping of parish accounts and financial activities as well as overseeing the maintenance of parish facilities. This position requires technical expertise within a framework of shared ministry stewardship and Catholic values Primary Duties and Responsibilities: A. Finance and Bookkeeping - Perform the following bookkeeping responsibilities: Maintain accounts receivable accounts payable process biweekly payroll perform reconciliations (bank balance sheet etc.) review general ledger income/expense accounts maintain journal entries formulate financial statements present financial statements to the parish finance council.
- Monitor and oversee banking activities including Sunday collections payables and receivables.
- Manage and oversee all accounting budgetary fiscal and statistical records along with monthly reports to the parish finance council.
- Monitor and oversee the filing of all required federal state and diocesan reports.
- Monitor and oversee budgetary compliance for all departments.
- Monitor and oversee service contracts suppliers and vendors for fair pricing and competitive bidding.
- Alongside the pastor serve as the staff liaison to the parish finance council and periodically report on the condition of the parishs physical assets and the administrative status of the parish.

- Monitor and oversee the management of parish facilities (scheduling contractors and maintaining insurance coverage etc.)
- Monitor and oversee all aspects of the care maintenance and replacement of all parish buildings and equipment including securing bids negotiating contracts and purchasing supplies and equipment.
- Assess capital repairs to prioritize and recommend a maintenance plan to the pastor and the finance council.
- Monitor and oversee all arrangements and contracts with outside contractors including information technology.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Education: Bachelors degree in accounting and/or finance or business Experience: Minimum of tow years of experience as an administrator or manager of an office is required. Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook are required. Must have experience with accounting software. Must have an understanding of Catholic parish organization. Required: May require occasional weekend work. Physical Demands: While performing duties employee has to sit for long periods of time use hands in repetitive motion tasks and answer telephone calls pertinent to the responsibilities listed above. The position also requires some standing stooping and bending while filing.
