Job title: Head of Broking

Salary: Open to negotiation

Location: London

PURPOSE OF ROLE
Lawes is seeking a Head of Broking for a respected insurance brokerage. This senior role leads the broking function ensuring effective placement of risks strong insurer relationships and technical excellence across all commercial lines

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and lead broking strategy aligned to business growth
  • Manage and develop high-performing broking teams
  • Maintain strong insurer and underwriter relationships
  • Support complex and high-value placements
  • Ensure compliance with FCA and internal standards
  • Collaborate with client teams to support growth and retention

DAY-TO-DAY

  • Oversee placement activity and documentation
  • Advise on technical structures and insurer terms
  • Support internal teams with broking expertise
  • Drive consistency quality and commercial value

EXPERIENCE

  • 10 years in commercial insurance
  • Proven broking leadership in UK and international markets
  • CII qualifications (Dip CII/ACII) preferred

SKILLS

  • Strong technical and market knowledge
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with commercial focus
  • Skilled team leader with project management ability
