The Opportunity
The Supervision and Monitoring Specialist plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of life insurance claims operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of supervision and monitoring packs coordinating internal and external audit requirements and managing the accuracy and consistency of claims compliance reporting. With a strong focus on data integrity and regulatory alignment the specialist will analyse key information such as complaints risk events and audit findings to identify trends and support continuous improvement across the claims function.
This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a solid background in life insurance ideally within claims and a strong grasp of regulatory frameworks such as LICOP. While not responsible for producing reports directly the specialist will coordinate review and validate data outputs ensuring high-quality insights are delivered to stakeholders. They will also manage sampling and work allocation within the team engage with external partners such as TCS and present findings to support strategic decision-making.
Success in this role demands a blend of leadership analytical acumen and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will bring experience in life insurance operations strong data literacy (including tools like Excel Power BI or SQL) and the ability to drive outcomes through clear communication and collaboration. This is a hands-on role that supports both day-to-day operations and long-term compliance initiatives making it a key contributor to the organisations risk and governance framework.
How will you make an impact
Develop and maintain comprehensive supervision and monitoring packs.
Compile and coordinate claims compliance data reporting including complaints and risk events.
Oversee and coordinate internal and external audit requirements for claims.
Analyse complaints risk events audit findings LICOP and other data to identify trends and insights in claims.
Manage team sampling and allocations.
Engage with external partners and manage their requirements.
Monitor and manage timelines for regulatory reporting requirements for claims.
Review and update supervision and monitoring frameworks and processes.
Collaborate with the Enterprise Risk Management team and other cross-functional teams.
About you
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following:
At least 5-10 years experience in Life Insurance claims leadership experience preferred.
Ability to prepare comprehensive reports with experience in reporting.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in the life insurance industry.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software including Excel PowerBI
Strong relationship and communication skills. Driving outcomes through clear communication with team members internal stakeholders and external parties.
Flexibility willingness to focus on additional initiatives as they arise.
Problem solving abilities identifying problems and finding effective solutions.
