Spark After School Program Coordinator
Williston Central School is seeking a part time Spark Program Coordinator. This is a category A stipend position. The Spark Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Spark After School Program including:
Engage 7 - 10 staff members per session from WCS and ABS to lead workshops for 5 Spark sessions throughout the school year and facilitate staff completion of Spark Proposals for each workshop.
Share proposals with administration for approval before publishing Spark workshop offerings in the school e-newsletter (Wildcat Buzz).
Publicize approved sessions 2 weeks prior to the start date in the Wildcat Buzz and via email to upper house staff. Include a parent registration form list of workshops with descriptions and information for families as to how Spark operates.
Organize students in workshop groups with an emphasis on first choice and friendships. Maintain a waiting list for popular workshops that repeat ensuring that everyone gets a chance to take part if they are interested.
Maintain attendance of students and staff throughout each session.
Contact families of students not present ensuring their safety.
Purchase snacks and distribute them to students at the beginning of each workshop.
Enlist substitutes for staff who are not able to attend a workshop. Take staff attendance for each workshop session.
Share staff attendance at the end of each session with the Williston HR & Finance Specialist who keeps track of matching trade time.
Order materials for each workshop as needed.
Maintain relationships with students and families.
Work with faculty to register students who do not have support at home and for whom Spark would be a benefit to them.
Meet with staff throughout the school year to help plan for workshops.
Respond daily to emails from families as after school care is important for student attendance.
Be present and available at school during all after school Spark sessions to assist with workshops that may need support for any reason.
Responsible for all medical (non-emergency) and behavioral needs of students attending Spark sessions during the 1.5 hours after school.
Ensure all students needing a ride home are on the correct activity bus and the drivers know where they live.
