Job Description

The Merchandise Assistant provides entry-level support to the merchandising team through administrative and clerical duties. This role helps with data entry sample handling document tracking and general team organization. The Assistant role is ideal for someone beginning a career in retail merchandising and offers opportunities to gain exposure to various merchandising functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enter product and pricing information into tracking systems or databases.
  • Assist in sample organization shipping/receiving and meeting preparation.
  • Help maintain documentation and digital files including photos item specs and vendor contact lists.
  • Support promotional execution by assisting with signage review and product details.
  • Run errands and assist with shipping materials to stores vendors or partners.
  • Attend and take notes during team meetings and assist with follow-up tasks.
  • Provide clerical support such as scheduling meetings printing documents and filing.
  • Work collaboratively with coordinators and managers to support team projects and deadlines.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred.
  • 1 year of administrative office or retail experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail organization and a willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to follow directions complete tasks accurately and manage multiple priorities.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

The physical demands required to perform the essential responsibilities of this position are as follows. Reasonable accommodations if necessary and/or as required by law will be made available.

  • Regularly required to sit use hands talk and hear; occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Requires close vision and extended use of a computer.
  • Regular use of standard office equipment (computer copier phone etc.).
  • This role operates in a standard office environment.
