UFG is currently seeking a Sr. Specialty Underwriting Support Coordinatorwho will be responsible for entry of standard and complex statistical information and computing of premiums is required for all lines of the Specialty lines of business using various system platforms to generate a legal contract for the insured The primary goal is to assist the Support Staff Supervisor and provide quality technical assistance to coworkers brokers underwriting team to meet service standards within authority. Assist the underwriters in handling phone calls information gathering and correspondence with the brokers. Decide which files to refer to the underwriter to review. Entry of standard and complex statistical information and computing of premiums is required for all lines of the Commercial lines of business using various system platforms to generate a legal contract for the insured. Expected to successfully shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information frequently.
Responsibilities:
- Authority to handle more complex accounts.
- Assist Support Staff Supervisor in more complex projects that promote their own role development.
- Review incoming tasks processing within assigned authority or forwarding to appropriate team member.
- Monitor and prioritize workload using various platforms.
- Analyze underwriting information to triage prepare and respond to quotes renewals and policy endorsements or inquiries as granted within assigned underwriting authority.
- Documents assigned files with quality underwriting information as aligned with our business strategy.
- Responsible for timely execution of policy services such as endorsement requests and other agent inquiries.
- Provides a comprehensive analysis and underwriting recommendation to the Underwriter when decisions are beyond assigned authority.
- Entry of statistical information and computing of premiums to generate a legal contract for the insured: Enter accurate information onto the various computer systems from written or typed correspondence. This entry will generate a completed legal contract with applicable forms coverages and premiums. This includes updating renewals endorsements cancellations and reporting forms and the initial entry for applications and quotes
- Assist Support Staff Supervisor on role development projects.
- Promote excellent service and profitable growth.
- Monitor and prioritize workload using various platforms.
- Assist underwriters with et-ups: Properly classify and rate - quotes applications cancels and premium endorsements per guidelines and authority levels and refer any endorsements outside of guidelines to underwriters. Include referral reason(s). Make notes to the underwriter on any risk outside the classifying guidelines authority levels or questions for the underwriter. File Adverse Risks.
- Review incoming tasks processing within assigned authority or forwarding to appropriate team members.
- Train new employees. Quality checks the work of new employees and coworkers. Organize training coaching and developing skills in rating and audit functions of all lines of insurance.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associates or Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- Employees are expected to participate in continuing education throughout their careers.
- Certified or working towards an insurance designation and/or other applicable property & casualty insurance coursework/designations are preferred.
Experience:
- 5 years of commercial property and casualty insurance experience preferred.
