As our next Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Pr. Systems Engineer and as a member of Strategic Solutions (SS) youll immerse yourself in the intricacies of Strategic Nuclear Deterrence bringing your acumen to the forefront of innovation and ensuring the efficacy and security of systems that are vital to national defense.
As a Principal Systems Engineer on the Strategic Solutions engineering team we will equip you with the opportunities and resources necessary to develop your expertise in the systems engineering lifecycle. You will have the opportunity to learn from top professionals in the communications and nuclear deterrence sectors at Collins Aerospace. This role will be part of a geographically distributed team responsible for the integration of our satellite communications capabilities. We are looking for talented individuals with prior experience developing and integrating satellite communications systems that love to problem solve and have a desire to grow and gain exposure to new skills. This position is for onsite work in Richardson TX.
What YOU will do:
YOU will work closely with a highly motivated and dedicated team of professionals and other internal/external stakeholders while executing model-based systems engineering development activities for strategic programs.
YOU will participate in the systems development lifecycle developing typical systems artifacts that include trade studies system design requirements definition requirements allocation requirement traceability ICD creation systems integration verification testing and qualification.
YOU will participate in and facilitate Agile team ceremonies Agile sprint reviews user story refinement and end of sprint product demos.
YOU will provide direct support to stakeholders by addressing technical questions troubleshooting issues and offering solutions to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction

Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Experience designing developing and integrating satellite communication systems for end users
Recent and relevant experience with the systems engineering lifecycle including requirements capture decomposition system design integration verification and validation. Demonstrated understanding of fundamental systems engineering deliverables such as requirements specifications interface control documents and verification matrices.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience designing and developing secure communications systems spanning the frequency spectrum
Experience performing co-site and performance analyses of military Radio Frequency (RF) solutions.
Experience in defining requirements and working collaboratively with hardware teams to ensure components meet system-level requirements integrate effectively with software and comply with physical environmental and operational constraints.
Strong understanding of end-to-end systems architecture governance and design principles
Experience with MIL-STD hardened environments ensuring compliance with military specifications for ruggedness durability and security.
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools such as Magic Draw Cameo Enterprise Architect or similar resources using SysML.
Experience developing integration and test plans test cases and procedures performed in laboratory and aircraft environments
Experience with Project Management Control Account Management (CAM) and earned value.
Working knowledge of bidding and project/task estimation tools (e.g. SEER products).
