Job Description
Overview
At Change Grow Live we believe that structured group work is a powerful tool in the recovery process. As an Alcohol Group Worker you will play a key role in facilitating and supporting a range of group interventions designed to assist individuals in their recovery journey. This will include relapse prevention groups pre-detox groups and post-detox groups.
We are a free and confidential drug and alcohol service for adults young adults families carers and affected others across the Wirral. We provide a non-judgemental service with qualified experienced staff and volunteers who offer support in health & wellbeing and substance misuse. We can talk to you in several supportive environments all which have a friendly atmosphere and provide you with information to help you reduce your substance misuse or to become abstinent.
We are part of Change Grow Live a national health and social care charity which provides a range of treatment recovery and support services for those who have concerns about their drug or alcohol use.
Responsibilities
Volunteers contribute to Change Grow Live in a variety of ways. From Admin Volunteers to Service User Reps from Peer Mentors to Healthcare Support Volunteers from Independent Visitors to Community Mentors each volunteer brings a unique set of skills and talents. We are incredibly grateful for all that volunteers do to support our service users.

Most of our volunteer opportunities dont need any special qualifications. Well make sure you get all the training and support you need. All we ask is that youre kind open-minded and passionate about supporting people.

You will work closely with service users to help them engage with treatment build recovery-focused skills and develop long-term coping strategies. You will also provide one-to-one support where needed and contribute to the development and review of group content to ensure it meets the needs of those accessing our services.
