JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Purpose Statement/s: The job of Parent Community Liaison is done for the purpose/s of providing under supervision of the site principal assistance in implementing parent involvement plans; providing staff assistance parent involvement social services and general program operation; performs other related work as required. Essential Job Functions: * Assists in performing community need assessments. * Coordinates family services activities with other personnel. * Develops and maintains lists of available resources for families of children with special needs. * Develops and maintains lists of available community resources. * Establishes contact with families in the community. * Resource for parents for enrollment documents and other forms as needed. * Serves as liaison for families.
Other Job Functions: * Coordinates with staff in making presentations in the areas parent involvement and general program operation in the community. * Takes a lead role in parent involvement activities.
*Job Requirements - Qualifications: * Experience Required: Good communication skills experience working with general public. * Skills Knowledge and/or Abilities Required: Skills that show working knowledge of operating computers. The ability to read write and speak Spanish use English in both written and verbal form and use correct spelling grammar and punctuation. Abilities to Operate a computer to prioritize work on time to do a high volume of work amid interruptions to assist in crisis or emergency situations to interact and work with families from diverse cultures and ethnicity communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and families to maintain accurate records to prepare reports and other documentation as required to interpret rules and regulations to interpret and apply verbal instructions to work with families. Significant physical abilities include reaching/handling/fingering talking/hearing conversations near visual acuity/visual accommodation.
* Education Required: High School Degree or equivalent. * Licenses Certifications Bonding and/or Testing Required: Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance and Valid California Drivers License.
* Special Requirements: Ability to meet such standards as may be required by the California Department of Education Title V and California Department of Social Services Title XXII regulations dealing with preschool and child development programs.
