Were hiring for a Senior HR Advisor Nearshore as part of Merkle in Barcelona.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our People & Culture team in Spain. This role is a key point of contact for employees and managers providing expert advice on all areas of HR and supporting the delivery of strategic people initiatives. You will also be responsible for leading or mentoring junior HR team members helping to shape a high-performing and collaborative HR function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert HR advice and guidance to employees and managers on a range of topics including performance management employee relations compensation and local policies.
  • Support and coach managers in handling employee relations cases (e.g. disciplinary actions grievances absence management) ensuring compliance with Spanish labor law and internal procedures.
  • Lead or support the implementation of HR initiatives such as employee engagement wellbeing DEI and talent development projects.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs to deliver key cyclical processes such as performance reviews salary reviews and talent assessments.
  • Ensure that HR policies and practices are fully compliant with Spanish employment legislation regularly updated and effectively communicated to employees and managers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR operations and drive continuous improvement.
  • Prepare HR reports and dashboards to provide insight into key people metrics.
  • Manage or mentor junior HR team members ensuring development performance and delivery of high-quality HR service.
  • Coordinate with payroll and HR operations teams to ensure smooth and accurate administrative processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR Advisory or Generalist role preferably within a fast-paced international or matrixed organization.
  • Proven experience managing or mentoring a small HR team or direct reports.
  • Strong and current knowledge of Spanish labor law and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage employee relations cases in Spain with confidence and sound judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and credibility across all levels.
  • Ability to work independently manage multiple priorities and deliver proactive solutions.
  • Excellent attention to detail organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
