About Amii

About the Role

The Financial Analyst meticulously manages financial records and processes ensuring accuracy and compliance and plays a vital position in the effective allocation of resources toward Amiis mission of AI for good and for all. The Financial Analyst supports Amii by providing reliable financial data that drives strategic investments in AI projects ultimately enabling Amii to develop and deploy innovative technologies that address global challenges and promote equitable access to AI solutions.



Reporting to the Controller the Financial Analyst where the position manages and maintains accurate financial records ensuring the integrity of Amiis financial data and compliance with accounting standards. Essential job functions include managing accounts payable and receivable reconciling accounts and overseeing financial transactions. The scope of the position encompasses all aspects of financial record-keeping and reporting with a focus on contributing to the overall financial health and strategic goals of Amii.



The position focuses on achieving excellence in three main accountabilities:

  • Financial Accuracy & Integrity
  • Transaction Management
  • Risk Management & Compliance



This is a Full-Time Term position with an end date of April 3 2026.


Required Skills / Expertise

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to quarterly balance sheet reconciliations ensuring account accuracy and identifying discrepancies to maintain financial integrity
  • Conducts thorough research development and recommendations for improvements to Amiis policies and procedures driving efficiency and alignment with best practices
  • Manages payroll administration by calculating verifying and maintaining employee compensation and benefits as well as facilitates smooth onboarding processes for new hires
  • Oversees records management by optimizing filing systems and refining the chart of accounts within the accounting software enhancing data accessibility and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Supports month-end close activities including bank and Visa reconciliations preparing monthly accruals updating the capital asset tracker recording amortization entries and adjusting deferred revenue to accurately reflect contract and fund balances
  • Performs detailed account reconciliations identifying discrepancies and anomalies while proactively recommending corrective actions to ensure financial accuracy
  • Reviews and processes invoices employee expense claims and weekly payment runs ensuring timely and accurate disbursements in compliance with organizational policies
  • Manages monthly invoicing to customers coordinating with product teams and clients to ensure accurate timely billing and resolves any discrepancies to maintain strong financial relationships
  • Monitors analyzes and reviews financial transactions ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial records to support reliable reporting and decision-making
  • Engages with internal stakeholders ensuring timely accurate responses and efficient resolution of financial issues to maintain smooth operational workflows
  • Upholds strict confidentiality regarding personal corporate and financial information safeguarding sensitive data and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations



Required Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business Administration Accounting Finance or related field
  • 3 years of related experience in a financial environment
  • Experience in a not for profit environment (Nice to have)
  • Proficient in MS Office environment excellent data analysis skills and abilities
  • Experience with Quickbooks Online or an equivalent accounting system
  • Understanding of GAAP (Generally accepted accounting principles)
  • Experience performing the payroll function and use of payroll software
  • Thorough working knowledge of internal controls and internal control concepts
