Job Description
Clearview Public Schools is accepting applications for a Learning Commons Assistant at the Wm. E. Hay Stettler Secondary Campus. Located in Stettler Alberta Wm. E. Hay Stettler Secondary Campus is a vibrant and modern school with approximately 630 students in grades 7-12. This position is scheduled to start immediately and the successful candidate will be scheduled to work 7 hours/day.
T he successful applicant will:
Support an Inclusive Flexible Learning Space - Help maintain an inviting learner-centered environment that encourages collaboration inquiry and imagination.
Promote Student Engagement and Citizenship -Foster opportunities for all students to be engaged thinkers and ethical citizens.
Guide Access to Print and Digital Resources - Assist students and staff in locating using and understanding a wide range of print and digital resources supporting literacy and numeracy.
Collaborate to Support Learning Outcomes - Work with teachers and the school community to plan coordinate and support learning activities.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience organizing library materials using systems such as the Insignia Software Program to keep resources accessible and up to date.
Skills in accessing and managing diverse information sources including traditional print media and various digital tools and devices to support a wide range of student learning needs.
The ability to organize and support students engaged in self-directed learning or blended programming.
A commitment to fostering student inquiry and imagination..
Strong skills in providing and supporting educational technology to enable student creation collaboration and effective communication.
Experience purchasing resources and materials strategically to enhance student learning and align with school goals and competence in managing a budget responsibly.
Learning Commons Assistants receive a competitive salary of $20.21 to $25.53 per hour. This position will also receive a full benefit package including pension extended medical vision and dental benefits and a health and wellness spending account.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector prior to employment commencing.
