Responsibilities
The main duties of our general loabourers is the safe and efficient transfer of dry bulk products to truck/rail-car by use of specialized equipment conveyor system grain blower and hostler truck.
- Unloading and handling of materials consisting of a variety of dry bulk products
- Assist with general yard clean up and maintenance
- Operate high-capacity forklifts
- Work in adherence to all safe work practices and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the yard shop department or work crew
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager

You Possess
- A sound understanding or aptitude to learn thetransloading of bulk commodities is an asset
- Previous experience operating specialized equipment such as hostler trucks grain blowers conveyors (grain handling) forklifts and shunt trucks is an asset
- Previous warehouse experience is an asset
- Experience working a rail yard is an asset
- Experience transloading is an asset
- Mechanical inclination
- Ability to complete the physical aspects of the job including opening and closing rail cars dome lids climbing rail cars (heights) crawling under railcars walking long distances on uneven terrain
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50lbs and climb ladders
- Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
