Job Description

On-Call Substitute Position

Salary Schedule: Miscellaneous Salary Scheduleat Summary:

In the absence of the regular employee the Substitute Bus Driver is responsible for transporting students and other authorized persons over regular school routes in all types of weather conditions including but not limited to fog rain hail sleet snow and ice.

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Driver will be working independently in all types of inclement weather and must be prepared to perform any added duties because of this. Necessary tasks may include but are not limited to pushing pulling bending lifting squatting running climbing and jumping. Driver will be responsible for safe evacuation of all students from bus when warranted. Driver will have to be constantly alert and aware of all safety factors. Driver is required to deal with a wide range of student behaviors that may include angry or distraught students. This list of working conditions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.

Evaluation:

The substitute shall be evaluated by the Director of Transportation pursuant to the currently established district procedures and evaluation criteria.
