Job Description:

Location: Cascade - Abbotsford

This is weekly schedule of 37.5 hours - full time.

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the expectation task list is to clearly outline managements expectations of the incumbent. These expectations and associated tasks will form the basis of the annual performance appraisal. Merit increases will be determined by the level of performance demonstrated in each area.

Expectations may evolve therefore the employee and management may use the annual performance appraisal process to establish realistic and equitable goals and outcomes for the upcoming performance year.

Expectations & Task LIST

JOB PURPOSE:

The SIL Program Supervisor provides program planning and supervision for the Supportive Independent Living (SIL) Program also referred to as The Next Step. The SIL Program Supervisor is responsible for developing and implementing a range of services and activities that address client needs with the goal of supporting individuals in maintaining sobriety securing stable housing and achieving meaningful employment.

Community Engagement & Collaboration

  • Liaise with external stakeholders (e.g. social services police health providers) to advocate for client needs.

  • Collaborate with Chaplains and other faith leaders to provide holistic and spiritual support.

  • Participate actively in lead team meetings and interagency coordination efforts.

  • Connect residents with external community services and accompany them as needed.

Tenant Support & Housing Services

  • Support tenants with move-ins maintaining their spaces and meeting basic needs (e.g. food hygiene).

  • Conduct regular wellness checks and enforce safety protocols.

  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate tenant files in accordance with funder and accreditation requirements.

  • Organize community-building and social activities to foster connection and well-being.

Leadership & Organizational Representation

  • Serve as a role model and advocate for residents upholding the organizations mission and values.

  • Participate fully in staff development team meetings and in-service training.

  • Represent the organization in a professional and mission-consistent manner.

  • Engage in strategic planning to adapt programming to evolving socioeconomic conditions.

Program Management & Administration

  • Develop implement and regularly update policies procedures and operational guidelines.

  • Manage program budget including rent collection petty cash and financial reporting.

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with legal contractual and accreditation standards.

  • Utilize client feedback to evaluate and enhance program effectiveness.

  • Record and document daily activities incidents and program compliance accurately.

Client Support & Case Management

  • Oversee admissions orientation rule comprehension and discharge processes.

  • Provide individualized counseling and support especially related to addiction recovery.

  • Monitor residents recovery through tools such as urine drug screenings room checks and behavioral reports.

  • Develop and implement individualized recovery and support plans in collaboration with supervisors.

  • Offer one-on-one and group support tailored to residents needs including life skills and educational programming.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Completion of a 2-year Social Work program.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in supportive housing preferably within a non-profit organization.

  • Knowledge of homelessness 12-step programs Celebrate Recovery trauma-informed care and local community agencies.

  • Demonstrated experience in advocacy service coordination and crisis management.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and documentation abilities.

  • Proven ability to manage diverse relationships and collaborate effectively with external partners.

  • Understanding and application of anti-oppressive practices and trauma-informed approaches.

  • Capacity to monitor the environment continuously engage frequently with clients listen attentively observe body language and accurately record relevant information.

  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training is considered an asset.

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Immunization for Hepatitis B.

  • Vaccination against Tuberculosis.

  • Strict adherence to all health and safety policies to reduce risks to both residents and staff.

Pre-Employment Conditions

Successful candidates may be required to provide:

  • Consent for a background check.

  • A clear vulnerable sector screening.

  • A clean drivers abstract.

  • Completion of The Salvation Armys online Praesidium Abuse Prevention Training and required Health and Safety Training.

Additional Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Class 5 Drivers License.

  • Full compliance with expectations for all program participants.

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this position is $26.42 to $26.55 with a maximum of $26.68.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions internal equity and candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
