POSITION SUMMARY: Position is responsible for assisting the QA Supervisor in performing all duties and functions required for efficient operation of the department. This position reports to the QA Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Aid and support the QA Supervisor in decision making and program implementation.
- Performs inspections to monitor production and sanitation programs and procedures.
- Assists in training and motivating employees to achieve their maximum quality and productivity performance levels.
- Assists in the scheduling of staffing materials and equipment to most effectively and efficiently utilize departmental resources to achieve Pilgrims USDA and OSHA standards.
- Maintain quality standards through process monitoring and inspection as well as informing Manager/Supervisor of process/product issues and departmental related issues.
- Must comply with all Food Safety Quality Assurance policies and USDA regulations. Modeling and coaching these expectations to quality and facility team members.
- Maintain records of department as well as issues memos and reports as monitor and develop programs as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Thorough 1 year experience as a QA Technician
- Knowledge of supervisory management practices and principles
- Knowledge of poultry plant processing (pet food rendering plant kill debone)
- General knowledge of product specifications necessary
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multitask and work quickly.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- Must have good communication skills as to communicate properly with all levels of management and USDA.
- Personal computer skills required to perform basic computer tasks (Windows Excel and Access).

- Ability to read write and comprehend simple instructions in English (for record keeping purposes).
